  • CONTRACT COMMUNITY-BASED PATROL OPERATIONS
     
    The Pennington County Sheriff's Office has partnered with four communities within Pennington County. The communities of Hill City, Keystone, New Underwood, and Wall receive the benefit of having full-time deputy sheriffs living and working in their communities. They also receive the benefit of the additional law enforcement and community resources the Pennington County Sheriff's Office has to offer.
     
    At the same time, this partnership allows rural citizens and visitors in Pennington County to receive timely professional law enforcement services provided by the Pennington County Sheriff's Office.
     
    Lieutenant Brian Mueller and Sergeant Kurt Weber currently supervise the four contract community-based patrol operations. They can be reached for non-emergency business at (605)394-6113.
     

     
    Hill City, SD is nestled in the Black Hills approximately 28 miles west of Rapid City on Hwy 16. Hill City,SD Hill City currently contracts for 3 deputy sheriffs working in and around their community. The Hill City Patrol Office is located at 243 Deerfield Road.     Keystone, SD,Keystone,SD "Home of Mt. Rushmore", is located approximately 22 miles west of Rapid City on Hwy 16A. Keystone currently contracts for 1 deputy sheriff working in and around their community. The Keystone Patrol Office is located at 408 3rd Street.     New Underwood, SD, is located on the plains approximately 18 miles east of Rapid City on Interstate 90. New Underwood currently contracts for 1 deputy sheriff working in and around their community. The New Underwood Patrol Office is located at 100 E. Oak.     Wall, SD,Wall, SD is located next to the Badlands approximately 50 miles east of Rapid City on Interstate 90. Wall currently contracts for 3 deputy sheriffs working in and around their community.
