SOUTH DAKOTA FACTS:
On September 14, 1804, Lewis and Clark encountered their first pronghorn. In their journal they
called it a "Buck Goat", noting "his eyes were like a sheep-he is more like the Antilope or Gazella
of Africa than any other species of Goat."
